A Kerala-based global Indian IT service provider, Techgentsia Software Technologies seems to be relentlessly pursuing its version of Zoom and Google Meet, VConsol. VConsol is India’s home-grown video-conferencing solution in running the Covid-19 pandemic, ready to hit the market in September with an initial target of securing one million users, Mr. Joy Sebastian, CEO of the company, said today.
VConsol is a multilingual, superior-quality India’s unique video-conferencing app with better audio-video than Zoom or Google Meet. VConsol aims at the B2B market focusing on telemedicine and education—the two segments on height demand through the pandemic world, making learning entirely Internet-based.
According to the Kerala-based firm that won a fierce competition by the Union Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, the moment VConsol supports up to 80 active and 300 passive participants. It will have a limited trial period every time a new customer signs up. “Once we have sufficient investment, we’ll aim to broaden our client base,” says the firm operating from Infopark Cherthala in Alappuzha district, famous for its backwaters. Leading communication in eight Indian languages, VConsol aims at one million global users by March 2021.

Reminiscing about the competition, Techgentia Software Technologies CEO, Mr. Joy Sebastian, says that “Grand Innovation Challenge looked “impossible” for us many times. Our core team of 15 members worked round-the-clock during the four-month challenge that began on April 12 with 1983 contestants across India.
Experts note that the next-generation video conferencing app, VConsol, can give Zoom and Google Meet a significant challenge in video conferencing. Techgentia Software Technologies’ product and support team has been busy chasing a high demand in users since March due to restrictions imposed following the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic.
On Thursday, Union Minister Shri Ravi Shankar Prasad, who holds Electronics and Information Technology and Communications portfolios, announced the results of the Grand Challenge conducted in three stages: ideation, prototype, and product.
